How disappointing that after you battled back to take the lead, you have a veteran pitcher come in and not be able to throw strikes and give them free bases and now trailing again.
9 outs and 9 strike outs. Guy had 14 coming into game. Not watching, but that tells me they are swinging for the fences. If I recall this is a home run friendly park.
I am here as well and agree that it was so disappointing how many Purdue fans are in the UConn section. If you are a donor of that level, why would you need to sell your tickets for profit. How about selling to someone you know is a UConn fan or just don't buy them and let them be there for a...
Go back and watch the 6th inning at bats for UConn. Its sums everything up about their offense right now. Studley leads off and gets break on a 2 strike pitch that he should have been punched out. Knowing he should protect as he just got a gift, he stares at strike 3 right down the middle. Free...
I agree completely with your #3. Penders is sac bunt happy and with this team struggling at the plate I would much rather have 3 cracks at swinging away then give up the out to your cleanup hitter. Too many sac bunts too early in games.
Cooke, gets first 2 guys out and now 3 straight walks, threw 11 straight balls. Cooke reminding me of Andrew Zapato. Great freshmen year and then something went terribly wrong.
I agree with your last sentence. I have always been outspoken about our aggressiveness at the plate. I know it is the UConn way. But when you are struggling this much at the plate, I think showing more patience will help. There have been way too many innings this year where the opposing pitcher...
To add one to the bad and I don't want to be hard on the home plate ump, but I will. That ball four in the first inning which ended up costing us 3 runs, was a strike on Broadhurst and Studley at the end of the game. All you ask for is consistency.
No unfortunately not, was planning on making the trip but tested positive for strep yesterday. Also just heard CJ says the series at UGA was cancelled for next year. Bummer
Interesting that a lot of teams down here just delayed for a few hours and are playing tonight in cold weather. Definitely a strategic move by Auburn as the temps are supposed to be back in the 60's tomorrow. They didn't want to play us in the cold weather tonight.
Why does it take us falling behind 2 scores before this OC opens up the playbook and when he did we actually moved the ball very well. The only thing that killed us on that last drive to tie the score were 2 holding penalties by the TEs. As far as the DTs, they were dominated. I know they were...
