I'll be taking the train in with the family like last year. Union station is a 4 min walk from the parade route and you get a great hyped atmosphere on the trip.
You're welcome! It's also the Big East Ticketmaster site which is oddly separate from core Ticketmaster.
I'm also selling 2 tix for the Semi-Finals (Friday) in 226 if anyone is trying to lock down that game.
Gampel sold out of season tickets this season. I’ve been curious if they were going to increase the allotment. This season we had 8,174 for Gampel and 10,812 for XL (including students).
From Hartford you can take the Amtrak direct to Penn Station, LIRR to Jamaica station, then the Airtram to JFK and whatever terminal you need. Takes about 3.5 hours vs 2.5 driving (assuming minimal traffic) but with a car you then need to park and shuttle to the airport vs being dropped off in...
Thanks for sharing, they really do build quick. Here’s the final design.
I believe it’s a net zero building too, energy from solar panels and heat/AC from geothermal.
Yep, and if you don’t mind switching trains in New Haven, you can take the Hartford Line from Berlin to New Haven for $3. Check the Hartford Line site for the full schedule but here are tomorrow mornings options. Total cost to the city from Berlin is $30.
The article mentions that they projected a loss in year one and there has been no advertising yet because of the operator change up. So there is likely still upside.
I hope it manages to do well. It's a nice addition to XL and makes it unique as a venue (outside of the casinos obviously).
I take the train to nearly every game. The station is a block from XL, is cheaper then parking, and avoids any drinking issues. Why wouldn't you take the train to XL?
I’ll just say that we’ve been playing half our home games at XL (Civic Center) since 1976. It’s literally been 47 years. The split is fundamental to our basketball identify and no other fanbase has such history with anything similar.
Heads up, crazy busy travel day so Amtraks are selling out. The 3 and 5pm trains out of New Haven are now sold out. The CT Rail trains (tickets are interchangeable between Amtrak and CT rail) don’t sell out (they just pack em in or add cars like Metro North). So the 2:27 and 4 (out of NH) are...
I’ve been wanting these official numbers so happy to see this:
”The public-sale portion of season ticket holders this season is 5,091 at Gampel and 9,083 at the XL. The total numbers categorized as season tickets, boosted by a student and band allotment and visiting-team seating areas, is 8,174...
I take the train to almost every game and will be taking it to Saturday's too. They did adjust the train times and add an extra late night train when UConn hosted the AAC tournament but don't for typical games.
So an 8pm tip is pretty much the latest you can have to make the 10:24. Fortunately...
I’ve got Hartford season but missed yesterday’s game (Thanksgiving travel). I expected typical low-major turnout but damn did it look packed on TV. This team is a wagon, hop on now while you still can!
Yea XL is the better venue for kids who can't stay in their seats the entire game. XL has a lot more space to move around or just take a break from your seat. I love Gampel but won't be taking my kids (4 and 1) there until they are older.
It’s not fan positive but the explanation is XL is way bigger than Gampel and hence they have a bunch more available tickets to those non-draw (this year meaning OOC) games. UConn thinks they can sell out every game at Gampel. Hartford will be tougher so they are pushing those games in order to...
I had to call and got 2 singles in the same row a few seats away from each other. Hopefully people will be cool sliding down one lol.
I don’t think any seats will be left for the general ticket sale, demand is wild.
"Men's basketball season ticket sales are the highest in Gampel Pavilion since the 2009-10 season and in XL Center since the 2006–07 season."
"Fewer than 500 men's basketball season tickets are available for the eight-game Gampel Pavilion package."
"Premium games will not be available to...
For anyone going to the Zags game (I’m making the trek) tix will go on sale the 19th on the Climate Pledge Arena Site.
I emailed the UConn ticket office and they said they will only have a small amount of tix for players families.
Haha true, but when making jokes you usually go with the low hanging fruit. Which for Creighton is they are in Nebraska, which is statistically 90% fields.
Don’t take this from DePaul, it’s the best thing they’ve done in 30 years! lol
Nebraska’s ranked 43rd in population density with 25 people per square mile. Connecticut is 4th with 745 per sq mile.
Doing the math they are 30 times more “cow town” then we are.
The reason the ballpark hasn't developed more is the lawsuit with the previous developer that halted construction. There are massive plans for new restaurants and shops that will go forward as soon as the suit is resolved.
Pratt Street on the other hand is in the mist of a billion dollar...
This was a problem when I was a student from 2005-2010 too. The season tickets would sell out in early August before the freshmen even got to campus and bus tickets were hot commodities and always sell out. There was an entire secondary market for them.
It's both good and bad we're getting back...
I brought my 2 year old to the BC game last year and it was really fun but tough toward the end. Lots of carrying him while we looped around the stadium. We also changed seats a bunch, no way he was sitting still and moving was a good way to keep him entertained.
Can she handle such a late...
