I didn't realize Cook played at Fairfield. Someone like him is exactly what we need for next season if DC doesn't come back. A 5 with some beef to compliment Sampson.
I thought Newton played a little bit selfish today. Too much one on one stuff. At times when he had the ball, I thought I was watching the Seton Hall offense, drive it to the hoop, chuck it up and see what happens. Not worried though, he'll be fine when it matters.
I thought the plan was to hit the portal hard last off season. I'm not down on the coaching staff, but I just don't understand how every team we play has more talent at every position than us (I'm not counting P4 teams). JMU had a QB with 5 years of D1 experience and we land a QB from Maine. Not...
Agree. I caught a couple of games this year, love the new stadium and performance center. With facilities like that we should be a top 20 team every year.
I can understand that but scheduling as an independent will get tougher and tougher going forward. The B12 minus football but with a scheduling agreement might be our best option. I think the ACC possible break up is too far down the road.
If they're willing to take Gonzaga for all sports, why wouldn't they be interested in us for all sports except football, with some kind of scheduling agreement for football? We're a much strong brand and bring in the NY market.
Even with being a man down, there were still too many wide-open Xavier players. It looks like we qualified for the BE tournament, we're making progress.
Agree with No 1. I was also wondering about the psychological effect of the B12 snub. Even as a fan I don't have the same level of excitement for the season knowing what might have been. A couple wins might help get it back. I don't think Mora is getting fired, I also don't see him quitting...
I was at BWW in Manchester. In the bar area, they had the UConn game on 1 TV, all the rest had UFC. I was hoping to catch a little of the post-game, but as soon as the game ended, they switched that one over too. Wouldn't recommend it for UConn games.
That driving layup by Andre near the end was a thing of beauty. I've been waiting 3 years for him to attack the rim like that. Maybe this will get him started.
Not sure if this is on Hurley, it's not like he has another Jordan Hawkins on the bench ready to step in if Ajax is struggling. I actually think that he is starting to use Allene a little more, if he plays like he did against Marquette, this could be the answer going forward.
Kind of a crazy idea, but worth a shot. Start Diarra at PG, we'll have to live with his mistakes, but he's more willing to attack the basket. This lets Newton play off the ball and do his thing, and might give Hawkins more room to do his thing. Put AJ at the 4 and let him clean up around the...
To be honest Jackson should forget about shooting 3's and work on developing a floater or a hook shot. He should be able to get 8 - 10 PPG around the basket on his athletic ability alone.
He hit a big 3 tonight, and he can hit them when wide open. I'm more concerned with the fact that he has no touch around the basket. He has trouble making a layup, his floaters are just ugly.
