The question is, can any of the three (and let's include Northeastern as a fourth too) break through and beat a B1G team. Yup we know Penn States plays in the AHA in women's hockey, and the others are in the WCHA, but the point stands. On prior form, the B1G schools should all win in the...
...IMO it's almost criminal that UConn is not at least in the ACC when you read the results in that Tweet. Realistically you would add more to the B1G than a third or more of the current conference membership. A UConn Addition immediately makes the B1G a top 2 league for Men's Hoops and #1 for...
"Some things you just don't forget."----I like this quote.
Yep, not just the rejection four times, but the boycott/blackball led by Michigan to try to smother ND's program.
I think the committee has finished the bracket at this point. Only caveat would be swapping MSU/Purdue as the #2 in the West/#3 in the South if Purdue wins, but they may have already swapped them yesterday, consistent with what you have.
What are these schools thinking? They gave her a FIVE year extension and 200k bump in 2024, the year that Purdue went 15-19/5-13 and finished 11th in the B1G.
And since the original PAC-12 dissolved and mostly joined the B1G and ACC and the top teams of the Big 12 moved to the SEC, this rule should be removed. The biggest conferences shouldn't be rewarded by the committee for having 20 teams (exaggeration).
Just wait until other teams move, ie Miami...
I don't know about football, but we did see the team have some pretty sluggish games last month, and with the competition in the Big East you can get away with that, but in a power conference you'd probably drop a game or two.
Yup, the B1G is a "power" conference...due to the football programs, which unfortunately carries over to WBB.
And UConn is undefeated against every power conference team we played. And I believe each one was ranked when we played them.
I guess serious BE fans need to get peacock then
Weird. I’ve lived in CT CO and WA and have never had it and I have cable and every streaming service. I could pay extra for it but that’s my point about peacock.
...Final Four.
The day is coming when ND will be forced to accept that they can no longer command an exclusive national TV contract for football. Then, finally, they will kneel at the altar of the Big Ten.
Full Disclosure: I refuse to refer to the conference as the B1G (such an arrogant moniker).
...the future? Maybe maybe not. However if they find themselves facing a major financial disparity or a lack of relevance related to scheduling, the actions of a dumb *** racist from 125+ years ago won’t stop them from joining The B1G. They’ll do what is in their best interest as they’ve always...
...correct?
If margin of victory affects (arguably pollutes) both of these stats, doesn't the fact that UConn plays many more games against weak Big East opponents than other NC contenders play in their conference schedule mean that UConn stats aren't comparable to those of teams in the B1G or SEC?
I sure wouldn’t want to go to a school where $400 of my tuition was going to the football coaches. (Yes I know that’s not literally true.) I wouldn’t be crazy about 40 bucks to unload a women’s basketball coach’s ill-advised contract either.
I think that Iowa's status as a premier B1G team is pretty secure. Jan Jensen has done everything right in order to show that she should be trusted at the helm. Hopefully, whatever the NIL landscape looks like moving forward, she is able to navigate those waters.
But, no shame in losing to an...
...the obvious connections to PC and everything else, but I just don't get why Donovan would want to leave the NBA for anyone except a team in the B1G, B12, or SEC where he has endless $$ at his disposal and will be able to rebuild, via the portal, in 4 minutes. Kentucky would give him a blank...
But he was still a Michigan bigot regardless of when it was.
Trying to organize a boycott to smother the program in the crib is not something ND fans will ever forget, sorry.
The Big Ten has always been a stalker trying to destroy ND's football independence and force it to join against...
Jan Jensen/Iowa have a lot riding on the NCAA Tournament. Except for the Caitlin Clark era, Iowa under Bluder was a consistent NCAA Tournament underperformer (1 Elite 8 and 1 other Sweet 16 in 14 NCAA Tourney Appearances before Clark). Jensen needs to make it to at least the Sweet 16 this year.
Can’t resist:
Brady is to Belichick
As Clingan & Castle are to ________
Truthfully, it’s incredibly hard winning college NCs…. Just ask the B1G. If we don’t win a NC for the next 30 years we will still be ahead of 99.99%
For Hurley, the bloom comes off the rose quickly if he can’t parlay...
