...Olympic sports.
In Women's Golf, the NCAA Championship Final Four is all PAC-12 teams. It's the first time in tournament history all four Final Four teams come from the same conference.........
Oregon vs. UCLA
Stanford vs. USC
Next year, this would have been 3 B1G schools and 1 ACC school.
Think it was the Xavier coach who, with a shell shocked look on his face, said in the post game interview that there really isn't adequate time to prepare with a team like Uconn because of the myriad of plays, options and players. I think he just said that Uconn could overwhelm you with all...
Exactly. Maryland was expected to dominate the B1G and did--until Iowa acquired more top-end talent (several Iowa players have won B1G POY in the last seven years) and Brenda started losing hers (Angel Reese won a conference POY elsewhere).
Of note, Fluguar believes all but Miami are the target of SEC and/or B1G expansion. And the SEC's desires might be as much about blocking the B1G as anything else. So can an ACC that loses 6 teams still operate? Maybe, but better hope the B12 doesn't get a green light to expand too.
...plan to get their shooters open looks. Clingan being an eraser definitely helped, but both teams had the "not anything we haven't seen before in the B1G" attitudes going into the games.
They stuck to their plans and did absolutely nothing else. I'm not mad about it though. It was funny as hell.

B1G schools received $60.5 million in media rights in fiscal year 2023, except for Rutgers and Maryland as they are still repaying loans. Those 2 schools are inching closer to receiving...
The same leverage the SEC and B1G used to get 58% of the CFP money. The threat of walking away. They would still be on the hook for most of the NCAA debt, but they could walk away after paying that. According to Matt Norlander (CBS), there are some industry insiders that suggest the P2 could...
Illinois can be criticized as at some point long before the run hit the 30's someone should have realized it may be time to try a new approach.
I'm not sure Purdue could have done a whole lot different, it isn't as if they could have added athletic guards & wings to their roster at halftime.
The P4 lost Alston 9-0 at the Supreme Court, and are about to lose another huge antitrust lawsuit in House, and they are consolidating further? Really?
It was the complete lack of adjustment that struck me... I 100% get "playing your game." But when it's not working you have to make some changes and not just state "if he blocks 100, he blocks 100." It was asinine. Both games were actually somewhat close at the half but the momentum had already...
Purdue was pretty used to getting open looks because of Edey all year. The rest of the guys on their team just weren’t that good without the looks he got them.
Our guys were just way more talented, especially defensively. Clingan was able to help us play normal defense and that was pretty much...
It's not true? Sounds like denial to me. It's in motion, and we all know it's bound to happen. Does anyone here think the B1G and SEC won't get their way?
Probably but if the SEC makes a play for both Kansas and UNC, I think it then puts pressure on the B1G to bring in their own basketball brands. If the dominoes fall into place that way, Uconn might have a chance.
...keep the ACC offices, keep the merchants happy with the championships scheduled in Carolina.
BC doen't have the will to invest and play at a higher level.....Cuse is just on idle....Stanford is probably upset.."What ? The contract can end in 2027 ? Nobody told us. Get me the B1G on the line".
That's why it's so delicious to win while Duke, UK and other SEC, B1G and other leagues' schools chase the shiny objects while UConn sets records for victory margin............
Maryland has won the B1G Championship in basketball before. At least the regular season. Not sure if they have won the conference tournament or not. It’s a basketball school. Just like UCLA. Every other add has been a football minded school except Rutgers which is neither.
When the B1G passed on him being commissioner, I was really surprised. I thought he was the next big thing. Good thing they did pass on him. He has been a huge flop in the ACC. Granted, circumstances play into this, but he hasn’t handled those circumstances well nor has he said the right things.
Maryland had a athletic department that was broke...a football team that was just OK...The B1G was a good move.
The ACC, with too many small private schools and an emphasis on basketball, was caught flatfooted in the massive money shift to football. The ACC payouts were more than the SEC's as...
The only way Maryland is benefitting the B1G is basketball is by getting beaten by the top tier consistently. At least they can boast that they finished ahead of Rutgers last season.
It’s the only viable option we have. The ACC is on the verge of imploding, and the better leftovers will flee to the big 12. See collapse of PAC. And there’s no way we’re ever getting into the SEC or B1G
