Weekly Recruiting Update, 7/22/13

Class of 2013:

Paris Bass (SF): He’s currently waiting to hear back from the NCAA clearinghouse and then decide whether he wants to go to college or go to a prep school. He currently has offers from the likes of Toledo, Oakland, Detroit, and Louisiana Tech however, UConn, Memphis, and Arkansas are supposedly looking for more info on him. Per Rivals.

 

Class of 2014:

Ahmed Hill (SG): He cut his list down to 10 schools this past week and UConn was not on it. Per Andrew Slater.

Kaleb Joseph (PG): He said this about UConn and Ollie, “He’s been around the NBA and he knows what it takes to get there, that is something that stands out, he knows about player development and what it takes to get to the NBA.” Per Scout. He now has offers UConn, Providence, Syracuse, Marquette, Kansas, Kansas State, and Pittsburgh. Per Brian Flinn.

Terry Larrier (SF): He now lists UConn, VCU, Florida, Miami, West Virginia, Minnesota, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Providence, SMU, and Arizona. Per Coast2CoastHoop. This includes all of his recent offers and his previous ones.

Paschal Chuckwu (C): He listed UConn, Providence, George Mason, St. John’s, and St. Joe’s as the schools he has the most contact with.

Kelly Oubre (SF): He cut his list down to eight schools and UConn made the list. The other seven schools are Kansas (his perceived leader), Florida, Kentucky, Georgetown, Louisville, Oregon, and UNLV. Per ESPN. He said that he’s going to cut down his list again and then schedule his visits but he is definitely visiting Kansas. He had this to say about Ollie and UConn, “Coach Ollie’s a young coach. He’s been there, done that. Everything. He’s a genuine guy. I like his style of play. He has a young team so I know they like to get up and run.”

Jordan McLaughlin (PG): He said that UConn, Kansas, and Indiana are contacting him a lot more recently with UCLA and USC also contacting him a lot. Per Adam Zagoria.

Dominique Uhl (PF): It looks like UConn is interested in another German. He has offers from Iowa, BC, Penn St., and Temple. Per Andrew Slater.

Jared Terrell (SG): He now has offers from UConn, Providence, St. John’s, Kansas, OK State, Cincinnati Miami, and Florida. Per Brian Flinn.

Kevin Zabo (PG): He is now receiving interest from UConn. Per Jason Smith.

Leron Black (PF): This past week was the first time he didn’t list UConn among the schools recruiting him the hardest. He listed Indiana, Illinois, Memphis, Tennessee, and Florida as the schools coming at him the hardest. Per Rivals.

Khadeen Carrington (SG): He said that he wants to visit Cincinnati and Virginia in August. Per Andrew Slater.

Payton Dastrup (C): He told me that UConn is one of the newer schools expressing interest in him. Per himself.

Devin Watson (PG): He has recently picked up offers from Loyola Marymount, Oregon State, San Diego, and UTEP but UConn and Gonzaga becoming more involved in his recruitment. Per Rivals.

 

Class of 2015:

Charles Matthews (SG): He received an offer from UConn on Monday after the staff watched him play at the Nike Peach Jam. Per himself.

Isaiah Briscoe (SG): He’s listing UConn, Arizona, Seton Hall, UCLA, Baylor, Florida, and Syracuse among others. Per Adam Zagoria.

Bennie Boatwright (SF): He claims offers from UConn, Arizona, Arizona State, California, Florida, Gonzaga, N.C. State, Oregon State, UCLA, and USC. Per Rivals.

Sedrick Barefield (PG): He said he has offers from UConn, Boston College, Kansas State, Memphis and San Diego State with interest from Florida, USC, and Michigan. Per Rivals.

 

Class of 2016:

Trevor Stanback (C): He has offers from UConn, UNLV, and USC with interest from Arizona and Washington. Per Rivals.
