Weekly Recruiting Update, 1/13
|Class of 2015:
Donovan Mitchell (PG): He has offers from UConn, Providence, Boston College, Iowa, Iona, Cincinnati, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Creighton, Marquette, Florida, Maryland, and Fordham with interest from Kansas. Per Rivals.
Will Jackson (PG): He mentioned UConn, Kansas, Clemson, and Georgia as the main schools that he talks to. He said that UConn was impressed by his play when they came to watch him. Also, he said this about his visit to UConn, “I watched practice at UConn and saw their first night. I met with their tutors too and it was just a great visit.” Per Rivals.
Diamond Stone (C): He is likely going cut his list down to about five or so schools after his high school season and then schedule visits. Per Scout.
Justin Simon (PG): He currently has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College, California, Colorado, Creighton, New Mexico, Oregon, Penn State, Santa Clara, USC, UCLA, and Washington. Also, he’s receiving high interest from UConn, Kansas, and Louisville. He currently is thinking about schools for visits and he has said he wants to visit UConn before. Then, he is likely going to cut down his list sometime before the spring. Per Rivals.
Marlon Hunter (PG): UConn has started showing interest in him. Per Rivals.
Tyler Dorsey (PG): He committed to Arizona. Per himself.
Jessie Govan (C): He said UConn, Seton Hall, Miami, and Louisville are after him the hardest. Per Adam Zagoria.
Nate Grimes (SF): UConn is starting to express interest in him. Per Jerry Meyer.
David Crisp (PG): He committed to Washington. Per himself. UConn had called him last week but was only showing minimal interest.
Class of 2016:
Tyus Battle (SG): His dad had this to say about UConn in his recruitment, “UConn has really picked it up quite a bit, Coach [Kevin] Ollie has done a great job with him and showing that he’s a top priority in 2016.” He also said that they are trying to attend a game this year. Per Adam Zagoria. The main schools in his recruitment right now are UConn, Villanova, Syracuse, SMU, Michigan, Indiana, Seton Hall, and Rutgers. Per CuseBall.
Vance Jackson (SF): He listed UConn, Arizona, and UCLA as the schools after him the hardest right now. Per GiveNGoBasketball.
Class of 2017:
Jatarious Smith (SF): UConn gave him a call this past week and they are starting to show early interest in him. Per Rivals.
Jermaine Samuels (SF): He has offers from UConn, Providence, Boston College, Harvard, Boston, Dartmouth, and Rhode Island. Per Rivals.
