Morgan Tuck and Kiah Stokes Sit Out Pitt game

On February 26th, the Huskies played the Pitt Panthers, a team which has only two players over 6’0″. You’d think that playing the Big East’s last place team would mean more playing time for the back-up post players to hone their skills while giving starting center Stefanie Dolson a rest, but, no. Freshman Morgan Tuck played only 10 minutes, all in the first half, while Kiah Stokes didn’t make it onto the court at all.

It turns out that Tuck experienced pain in her previously-injured knee, so coach Geno Auriemma opted to rest her in the second half. And when asked about Kiah Stokes, Auriemma replied, “There are only so many minutes in the game. Right now I’m trying to get minutes for the guys I think have earned it”.

Benchings have proved useful for UConn players in the past, players such as Shea Ralph to Tina Charles. We shall see if Stokes benefits from one as well.
