Case Dismissed!

The Connecticut Post is reporting that the employment discrimination suit brought against Geno Auriemma by NBA official Kelley Hardwick has been dismissed by New York Supreme Court Judge Cynthia Kern.

The dismissal may not be what Auriemma is looking for, though, as it was for the technicality that he doesn’t live or work in New York. An appeal has been filed by Hardwick, with her lawyer saying that Geno has “a relationship to New York”. He also muttered a few threats about this being “just the beginning”. There was no verbal zinger fired back by Geno’s attorney, Kenneth Novikoff of Rivkin Radler LLP, as he apparently didn’t feel the need to throw a hissy fit over the court’s ruling.

For those who aren’t familiar with the case, here’s a link to a New York Times article on the alleged events.

Unlike other accusations against well-known men, there have been no other “me-too’s” stepping forward to stake a claim on the wallets of Geno, UConn and/or USA Basketball. In addition, Hardwick did work at the Olympics, despite her claims that Geno blocked her from that duty.
